Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.  Since opening our doors, we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.

 

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 

This position performs accounting duties related to the timely processing of the company’s payroll including maintaining related records, preparing, and filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing general accounting transactions and reconciliations, updating procedures, and preparing financial reports for management. They perform complex, detailed, and disciplined work using standard methodologies in analysis, documentation, implementation, and support of accounting and finance procedures.  The Accountant is a detail oriented, analytical, organized, self-sufficient critical thinker, and has excellent communication skills.

 

75% of time - Accounting

  • Review monthly financial results compared to budget and provide variance analytics.
  • Prepares journal entries with supporting documentation as assigned.
  • Partners with internal departments to present monthly financial results and assist with monthly commentary.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheets in line with best practice and internal controls.
  • Conducts all necessary analysis and research related to vendors transactions.
  • Provides information and assistance to facilitate the completion of annual financial statement audits.
  • Maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity and accuracy of all financial systems, processes, and data.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains a work priority system to ensure daily and heavy workloads are fulfilled.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all employee and financial information.

25% of time - Payroll

  • Prepares and submits accurate payroll processing using Ceridian Dayforce for both exempt and non-exempt employees on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Work with managers to ensure employee hours are submitted accurately and approved on a timely basis every pay period. Resolves any discrepancies directly with employees and/or their manager.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as it relates to W2, and 401K census.
  • Generate payroll analytics prior to payroll funding to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Partner with Human Resources, FP&A, and third party to ensure configurations with the payroll system are optimized.
  • Create and maintain payroll and general accounting standard operating procedures and establish consistent policies.
  • Assist with successful quarterly and year-end audits in areas related to payroll and general accounting inquiries.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all payroll-related and operating expense questions. Research, analyze, and resolve problems or questions. Proactively work with team members to reduce issues and create positive outcomes.
  • Completes in a timely manner assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of payroll management experience.
  • Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment.
  • Strong background in payroll tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Previous experience with all types of garnishments, levies, liens, support orders, and subpoenas.
  • Familiarity with benefits rules and regulations.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and analytical reporting.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and communication skills.

It would be great if you had:

  • 7 years of payroll processing experience, including time in Ceridian.
  • Previous experience implementing new or replacement payroll systems.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
