Overview

The Clinical Trainer, Education & Development is responsible for ensuring that Team Members are adequately trained and developed to perform their job duties.  The Clinical Trainer, also is responsible for working closely with the Operations, Client Services and Clinical Services teams to improve the quality of work executed by the Member Services teams. This is a clinical position. The Clinical Trainer is responsible for conducting triage and general care program activities that require interpretation of clinical information.

Responsibilities

  • Train all assigned Clinical and Non-Clinical Team Members on their basic job duties ensuring a balance of optimum productivity and service level goals are maintained, serve as a knowledge-base for staff to provide direction and assistance in operations efforts, proactively offer consultative advice
  • Work closely with the Education & Development management and quality team to ensure all personnel are trained and developed according to their job description and assigned workload
  • Ensure employee development through training, coaching, mentoring and providing appropriate resources and tools through various media to achieve highly motivated and quality performance.
  • Participate in assigned project launches. Coordinate training, develop material, execute training to team members and follow thru post-launch to ensure successful implementations
  • Respond to 24-hour/7-day-a-week service needs ensuring complete issue resolution.
  • Assess callers’ needs and assist them with issues related to patient care.
  • Adapts communication style to persons representing diverse personal, professional, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Support the initiatives of the Quality Management Committee.
  • Assist, as needed, with the recruitment, staffing and training of new Care Coordinators/Care Navigators, Engagement Specialists, Patient Service Center, Care Advisors, or other Team Members.
  • Reporting and Administrative tasks associated with the communication of training outcomes and performance trends.
  • When not in a training activity, Training Specialist’s labor time will be in production taking and/or receiving calls on assigned programs, conducting Quality Assurance work or assisting with the management of assigned Team Members in operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have current Registered Nurse license in Texas, compact state license preferred, CA state Nursing license preferred.
  • Experience with Health Insurance and Managed Care concepts is preferred.
  • Demonstrated advanced subject matter expertise of relevant client training programs or similar product training. 
  • Minimum one (1) year training or Supervisory experience in a classroom or adult education setting preferred.  
  • Ability to thrive in an autonomous environment; virtual classroom training a plus.
  • Ability to adopt and develop learner-centered training style of engagement;
  • Proficiency with relevant client systems which may include Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Learning Management Systems (LMS) a plus.
