Position Description

The Data Acquisitions Manager is responsible for overseeing technical and support functions of data collection from multiple Medicare systems and other data related tasks. The Data Acquisitions Manager is in direct communication with the Program Director and provides technical assistance to the CMS CERT staff and CERT SC staff, as necessary. In addition, the Data Acquisition Manager is an integral part of the CERT RC management team. The Data Acquisitions Manager manages project plans and schedules to implement solutions that meet CERT RC business requirements. The Data Acquisition Manger implements project management policies and leads multiple small and large projects from conceptualization to launch. The Data Acquisitions Manager performs project leadership functions which include defining the project’s objectives, retrieving, reviewing, and implementing scopes of work for each phase of the project, overseeing quality control throughout its life cycle, acquiring resources, and coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the delivery and management of data from multiple Medicare systems and safeguards availability to the nurse reviewers by performing quality checks and ensuring compliance with scheduled deadlines.
  • Directs the Data Management Team towards a goal of building and maintaining a strong, positive partner relationship with Empower AI business units.
  • Understands business requirements and ensures the development of appropriate technical solutions.
  • Identifies appropriate resources and staff for projects. Organizes project team(s) members to ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments, and objectives. Acts as the point of contact to client's project management.
  • Manages the implementation of the annual statistical sampling strategy and maintenance of sampling methodology software programs.
  • Defines methodologies, tasks, and activities, and clearly describes roles and responsibilities for performing to personnel. Communicates broadly to help ensure overall coordination for cross-functional teams.
  • Establishing clearly articulated project plans and optimize the allocation of time and resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Works in conjunctions with team members and stakeholders to anticipate and manage changes to projects, such as but not limited to, technical requirements, business requirements and schedule. Determines when additional resources are needed and implements same. Identifies or gathers information regarding practical solutions that may create additional, different, or unique project objectives or results.
  • Ensures the delivery of services to ensure that all Empower AIs business goals are met or exceeded.
  • Assigns work and provides direction about timeliness and completion of project objectives.
  • Addresses performance issues within prescribed guidelines.
  • Serves as a resource for the operation as well as other Empower AI managers to increase process efficiency and/or effectiveness through the application of technology.
  • Ensures the development and compliance with Empower AI policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the department compliance with quality management system and ISO
  • Identify, communicate, and elevate issues when necessary. Develops and implements solutions to issues as appropriate.
  • Assists with development of methodologies for proactive data analysis.
  • Works with various project managers across task orders to meet innovative and ongoing project needs.
  • Uses advanced statistical techniques to identify data patterns and aberrancies in CERT data.
  • Assesses and reports data security issues.

Qualifications

The Data Acquisitions Manager shall be primarily responsible for overseeing technical and support functions of data collection from multiple Medicare systems and other data related tasks. The Data Acquisitions Manager shall be in direct communication with the Program Director and provide technical assistance to the CMS CERT staff and CERT SC staff, as necessary.

 

The Data Acquisitions Manager shall possess a combination of experience meeting the following criteria:

 

• A minimum of three years of experience in the health care data field
• A minimum of three years supervisory/managerial experience in the health care data field
• Certification as a Project Management Professional, or similar designation
• Knowledge and working experience with the Medicare program (Preferred)
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a field of study that can be reasonably interpreted to perform tasks related to this position
