The Cybersecurity Associate Project Manager (APM) is responsible for delivering the best-practice approach designed to successfully plan and prepare for all aspects of project engagement, delivery and adoption within the assigned portfolio.  This role is accountable for Cyber project objectives that drive business value, operational excellence,  optimized customer experience, and other activities as assigned by the Cyber HR or Program Manager.  

The Associate PM is responsible  for leading PMs and Associate PMs,   and working with stakeholders to define project scope, budget estimates, resource requirements, and achievable milestones. This includes planning, risk assessment,  influencing sponsors,  prioritizing work,  identifying project dependencies, and communication strategies. 

The Associate PM will  have  an active role in supporting decisions, leading  teams,  and financial responsibility necessary to implement change for high impact environments  while ensuring compliance with enterprise level design processes standards and policies. The Associate PM is expected to work under the leadership of a PM, Senior PM or Program Manager with regards to project delivery and the Cyber Portfolio  project management standards through collaboration and demonstrating team leadership while focusing on items that will have positive project outcome implications. 

The Associate PM supports early engagement, project gap analysis and operational change management. This will include innovation of project lifecycle delivery, promoting successful relationship management and customer adoption. The Associate PM is  expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Cyber Portfolio project management standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in defining project scope, objectives, key resources, budget and project plan in support of one project.
  • Assist in measuring project performance, reporting, and escalating in support of one project.
  • Leads one or more basic to intermediate projects with assistance.
  • Follows the CommonSpirit Health project management methodology, and is accountable for assigned deliverables by the manager.  
  • Monitors and prepares reports to ensure work is progressing to meet the deliverables on time and under budget. 
  • Manages assigned deliverables on one or more basic or of intermediate complexity capital or non-capital IT projects.
  • Effectively applies the organization’s project management methodology and enforces project standards. 
  • Supports in-flight reviews and quality assurance procedures.  
  • Communicates and works with managers to resolve issues in a timely manner. 
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. 
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to the manager.

  • Effectively applies and enforces the Cyber Portfolio project management standards. 
  • Follows the CommonSpirit Health and Cyber Portfolio  financial and accounting standards to manage budget with Manager  oversight.
  • Monitors and prepares reports to ensure work is progressing to meet the deliverables on time and under budget. 
  • Manages  delivery of one to two basic to intermediate  capital and non-capital IT projects simultaneously. 
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and its scope. . 
  • Supports  in-flight reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Proactively identifies, manages and minimizes organization’s exposure and risk on projects. 
  • Addresses conflicts and issues in a timely manner, escalating to manager as appropriate. 
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. 
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to Cyber managers, project stakeholders, and in some cases, leadership, including but not limited to sponsors.
  • Provides leadership to, and works with Analysts.
  • Facilitates project requirements with multi-disciplinary teams, as well as third-party consultants.
  • Assists with aligning project activities and deliverables  with third-party consultant Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Supports CommonSpirit Health Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Contributes to professional development goals, Cyber annual goals and best practices.
