Job Overview:
The Vice President, Client Services will lead a key pharmaceutical client, providing both strategic vision and hands-on leadership across a dynamic range of initiatives. This role requires deep experience in patient-focused communications and a proven ability to craft impactful campaigns across TV, broadcast, and innovative, nontraditional channels. The VP will serve as a trusted client partner and agency leader, guiding teams to deliver meaningful, insight-driven work that connects with audiences on both a human and scientific level. Success in this position means building and sustaining strong client relationships, driving creative and strategic excellence, and upholding CG Life’s commitment to authentically bridging science and humanity.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Client Relationships
- Quickly form relationships with new business wins and lead the team in best practices for building and sustaining client trust.
- Maintain long-term client relationships and cultivate a network of clients who are eager to work with CG Life as they move through their careers.
- Confidently manage client escalations or difficult conversations with diplomacy and professionalism.
Account Growth
- Demonstrate a proven track record of organic growth and lead upsell opportunities across the book of business.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for growth within existing accounts and across connected client organizations.
- Lead pitch teams and oversee all aspects of new business opportunities.
Account Finance
- Oversee revenue and forecast reporting for a multi-account portfolio, ensuring accuracy and sound financial management.
- Report to leadership and finance on key financial metrics for assigned accounts.
Project Oversight
- Provide strategic oversight across all core elements of agency work, including planning, launches, digital, media, and integrated communications.
- Serve as a tone-setting leader and escalation point across the organization.
- Partner with agency leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-strategy delivery of all client work.
Leadership & Strategic Guidance
- Demonstrate inspiring and motivating leadership that empowers teams and elevates client work.
- Guide strategic recommendations rooted in deep understanding of the client’s business, market dynamics, and challenges.
- Model confidence, polish, and collaboration to foster credibility and trust with clients and internal teams.
Internal Relationships
- Build strong relationships across all functional leads (science, strategy, creative, and operations).
- Foster collaboration, transparency, and camaraderie across the CG Life team.
Knowledge & Expertise
- Act as an agency leader demonstrating sound business judgment and prudent financial decision-making.
- Keep senior management informed of account status, challenges, and key milestones, engaging them when appropriate.
- Apply deep understanding of business trends, insights, and brand launch best practices to guide strategy.
People Management
- Oversee staffing, management, and leadership of the assigned account team.
- Develop and mentor team members, supporting their career growth and professional development.
- Provide coaching and leadership that strengthens team performance and agency culture.
- 15+ years of client service experience in the advertising industry.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical advertising experience
- Expertise in patient-focused communications, brand launch strategy, and integrated campaign development.
- Strong background in both traditional and innovative, nontraditional campaign execution. Must have experience with broadcast/TV.
- Confident, polished, and highly collaborative communicator with proven leadership in managing complex client relationships.

At CG Life, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $190,000 - $220,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan.
