Accountant

Summary The Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and procedures to analyze financial information; prepare accurate and timely financial reports and trial balances; ensure appropriate accounting control procedures; and assist in the preparation of our consolidated financial statements. Responsibilities Knowledgeable of GAAP and its applications to revenue, fixed asset, treasury, and     general accounting functions Assist with the preparation of certain external regulatory filings and reporting Reviews and verifies the accuracy of account coding Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger and sub-ledger accounts Provide income and transaction tax support Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements which would include income and balance sheets used for internal and external reporting purposes Respond to financial inquiries; provide requested information for use in effective management of the business and/or meeting external reporting needs Provide and effectively communicate financial information for internal and external audit Prepare certain external regulatory filings and reporting Validate work product is accurate Provide feedback, including sharing best practices, to team members Participate on cross-functional teams as required Identify business process improvement opportunities; lead in the development and implementation of effective solutions

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required CPA with 2 year preferred or 4 years of experience in Accounting required Public auditing / accounting experience preferred Strong financial background and knowledge of financial statement preparation Strong analytical and organizational skills needed with ability to perform required analysis quickly and accurately under tight deadlines, communicate requirements effectively, and produce detailed and accurate presentations Strong experience using Excel and system tools to develop analytical models and reports Ability to work independently, well organized, self-motivated in a fast paced environment Consumer package goods industry experience a plus Technical accounting knowledge with a deep understanding of US GAAP Experience in a CPG manufacturing experience a plus Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) a plus Excellent organizational ability Problem solving Effective communication

Compensation Range: $77,000.00 - $115,000.00, plus bonus.
