Overview of the Role The Accounting Assistant will complete data entry, processing disbursements, recording transactions, updating ledger, assist in reviewing and preparation of periodic financial reporting, statutory and management reports. The candidate should have an in-depth working knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency with accounting software (e.g QuickBooks, XERO).
Preparation and Review of the following financial reports
Balance Sheet Accounts Profit and Loss Accounts Wages Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts and invoices Assist with preparation for annual audits Compliance with all the relevant client policies and procedures Reviewing government’s notice of assessments and other correspondence Providing procedural, technical, and administrative assistance to team members A degree in Management Accounting, Financial Management, or other related accounting disciplines A minimum of 1 year of accounting experience Certification as a Bookkeeper is preferred but not mandatory Familiarity with technical accounting knowledge or accounting software such as XERO or QuickBooks Preference for candidates with a solid understanding of Australian Tax Laws, both Federal and State, but it is not essential Strong written and verbal communication abilities Attention to detail Experience in client communication Flexibility, with the capacity to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and manage project priorities Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving results 500K per incident HMO coverage + Dental & Optical benefits 2-week paid Christmas vacation Electricity & Data subsidies 25K Educational Assistance Training and equipment will be provided Fixed Schedule of Mon-Fri from 7 AM to 4 PM
