Salary: $65,000-75,000 annually

    Schedule/Location:

    Full Time, Hybrid (on-site a minimum of 2x per week)

    • Location: This is a hybrid position based out of our Golden Valley location. Subject to change as business needs dictate. Must live in or have easy access to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

    Job Summary: The Annual Giving Officer is a dynamic and donor-focused fundraising professional responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of high-priority annual giving donors. This role plays a critical part in building the pipeline of mid-level and major gift prospects as well as advancing the mission of Animal Humane Society. The Officer will manage a portfolio of 75–150 donors and prospects, focusing on deepening engagement and increasing annual contributions through personalized outreach and relationship-building. Essential Functions

    Leadership Giving Strategy and Execution:

    • Implement a comprehensive leadership annual giving strategy to retain and increase engagement with high-priority donor annual fund donors.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop an integrated direct response program that strategically solicits annual contributions and reinforces key fundraising messages.
    • Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals.

    Donor and Portfolio Management:

    Manage a portfolio of 75–150 leadership annual giving donors and prospects. Conduct regular outreach, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. Utilize donor data and insights to personalize engagement strategies. Provide personalized stewardship outreach to any unmanaged donor who makes a gift of $1,000 or more.

    Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Work closely with Advancement Services to ensure accurate donor records and reporting. Coordinate with other members of the Individual Giving Team to support donor pipeline development.
    • Partner with program staff to communicate impact and align donor interests with organizational priorities.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Individual Giving and the Director of Stewardship to revitalize and strengthen the donor experience.

    Strategy Planning and Reporting:

    • Contribute to annual fundraising planning and goal setting for lead annual giving. Track and report on donor activity, revenue, and engagement metrics.
    • Stay informed of trends and best practices in annual giving and donor engagement.

    Communication and Culture:

    • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, other employees, and volunteers.
    • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion to make AHS a welcoming environment for all.

    Technology:

    • Utilize CRM for donor and prospect data management.
    • Monitor AHS email and other messaging software.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Additional Information:

    Schedule and Attendance:

    • Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours.
    • Attend and participate in regular team meetings, all staff meetings, and one-on-one meetings with direct leader.
    • May be required to work at a different site based on department needs.
    • May be required to attend occasional off-site meetings and events.

    Work Environment:

    • Primarily office/desk based.
    • Adjacent animal shelter areas may be humid, noisy, or odorous.

    Experience:

    1+ years of experience of donor relationship experience required.

    • Knowledge of the probate process and practice is required.
    • Database and CRM experience preferred.

    Skills:

    • Ability to work in a professional and positive manner.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments.
    • Strong administrative and process management skills.
    • Strong multi-tasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient with computers, specifically a working knowledge of Microsoft products.

    Physical Demands:

    • Prolonged sitting at a desk.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.

    Emotional Demands:

    • Must be comfortable with the emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the use of humane euthanasia.

    Transportation:

    • Reliable transportation required.
