Art and Design Instructors (part-time) (remote)

You will engage students in meaningful learning experiences, helping them develop technical skills, refine their creative vision, and achieve their artistic potential. You will have the flexibility to manage your schedule, contribute to class discussions, and support student learning in a fully remote environment. Accountabilities Prepare for each class by reviewing existing course content and following the provided syllabus and outline. Communicate with students via the online learning platform, checking in six days a week and responding to inquiries within 24 hours. Evaluate and grade student work, providing constructive feedback within three business days after module completion. Participate in class discussions and mentor students on creative and technical aspects of art and design. Track and submit progress, mid-term, and final grades accurately and on time. Support students who are absent and escalate concerns to other departments as needed. Conduct additional instructional activities, such as workshops, portfolio reviews, and directed study sessions, as assigned. Participate in training programs for the online learning platform and work with instructional coaches during the first semester.

Requirements Minimum of two years of professional experience in art or design, directly related to the skills taught in the courses. Passion for art and design with a solution-oriented and student-focused mindset. Strong time management, organization, and communication skills to support multiple students effectively. Familiarity with PCs and Macs, and relevant software tools for the discipline. BFA or MFA preferred; a master’s degree required for teaching graduate-level courses. Prior teaching experience is highly desirable, with the ability to mentor students in a virtual environment.
