Backend Engineer - (Java/Python, AWS)

About our Team:

Our team is responsible for creating a brand new suite of digital financial platforms and apps that are highly reliable and scalable, using modern engineering practices. You will be joining a project with talented software engineers in our Digital Bank Build team, who are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the new digital banking platform and its customer channels. As part of the team, you will implement software features, participate in technical designs, and write tests to ensure high-quality product delivery. Our teams operate in Scrum and DevOps models. We’re looking for top engineers! During the interview process, we will assess your coding and design skills to evaluate your experience and depth of knowledge. Responsibilities:

• As a Backend Engineer, you will work on specific problem domains, designing, developing, and deploying backend services with a focus on scalability, high availability, and low latency.
• Drive the efficient delivery of change through analysis, definition, and documentation of requirements, while identifying potential solutions using agile delivery frameworks.
• Solve complex technical and business problems and learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Be part of a team that takes full responsibility for the features you own.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and improve – you are responsible for the full lifecycle of your product.

Must-have:

• A pragmatic mindset.

+5 years of software development experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages (Java or Python).

• Strong database and schema design skills for large-scale applications.
• Adaptable attitude and personality, ready for continuous change.
• Collaboration and culture fit in an Agile environment.
• Good English skills.

Nice to have:

Experience developing distributed systems using microservices architecture, serverless architecture, and event-driven architecture. Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Redis, Python (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI), or similar technologies is a plus. Experience with AWS, Ansible, Packer, Docker, and Kubernetes is a significant plus. Experience with automated testing frameworks. Strong English listening and speaking skills. Experience working in the banking and financial domain.
