    ​​Looking for Philippines-based candidates Job Role: Bookkeeper/Payroll Officer Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $3,000 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home. Who The Client Is: A boutique retreat nestled in the heart of the Blue Mountains, offering a stylish, design‑forward escape with modern amenities and a relaxed vibe. With mid‑century inspired rooms, an on‑site restaurant using local produce, and leisure zones like a sauna, hot tub and games room, they aim to provide both adventure and serenity for couples, friends or solo travellers. Role Overview: This role is perfect for someone who loves keeping numbers in order and ensuring payroll runs smoothly. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the team with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. The ideal person enjoys attention to detail, thrives on organization, and takes pride in keeping financial processes efficient and compliant.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process and manage payroll for employees accurately and on time.
    • Maintain and reconcile accounts, including accounts payable and receivable.
    • Prepare and submit BAS and other regulatory reports.
    • Monitor and record financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist in month-end and year-end financial reporting.
    • Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and employment laws.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    2+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll management.

    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB).
    • Knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, and tax obligations.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication skills for liaising with staff and management.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

    • This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
