Overview Golden Key Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development & Legal Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. This unique hybrid role supports both the DoD Business Development division and Legal/Contracts team, bridging strategic pursuits with compliant execution. The ideal candidate combines sharp legal acumen, strong analytical and writing skills, and a passion for process improvement and mission alignment across federal initiatives. Responsibilities Business Development Support (50%) Conduct market and competitive intelligence to identify and track federal contracting opportunities, particularly within DoD and Civilian agencies. Support proposal development by coordinating inputs, drafting sections, and reviewing for compliance with solicitation requirements (RFP, RFQ, SOW). Develop capture briefs, capability statements, and past performance summaries for BD leadership. Assist in pipeline management and opportunity tracking in collaboration with the VP of BD. Coordinate with program managers, SMEs, and partners to prepare technical and management approaches. Draft teaming agreements, NDAs, and subcontract documents in collaboration with Legal Counsel and PMO. Other duties as assigned. Legal & Contracts Support (50%) Support the General Counsel in reviewing, drafting, and maintaining contract documentation and correspondence. Conduct legal and regulatory research related to federal acquisition, ethics, and compliance requirements. Maintain contract repositories and ensure proper tracking of deliverables, modifications, and renewals. Assist in preparing documentation for audits, due diligence, and risk assessments. Ensure organizational adherence to confidentiality, procurement integrity, and records management standards. Develop and streamline internal procedures for contract workflow, document retention, and compliance tracking. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) or completion by 2025 required; admission to the Virginia Bar (or pending) preferred. 5+ years of experience supporting legal, business development, or contracts functions within a federal or DoD environment. Proven ability to draft, edit, and interpret legal and contractual documents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive briefs and presentations. Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) and government proposal processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and CRM or pipeline tracking systems (e.g., GovWin, Salesforce). Lean Six Sigma or process improvement experience a plus.
