Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent, and treat diseases. Diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease affect the lives of many people in our communities. Our goal is to create a world-leading resource for health research, to improve our understanding and spot the patterns of how and why common diseases start, so treatments can begin sooner and be more effective. We're looking for a Clinical Lead to join our Population Health Insights team, contributing to the population health insights strategy, including a major Wellcome-funded initiative to develop a pioneering digital population health intelligence product.
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, Communications, Design and Science teams, to test assumptions and inform requirements for the production of population health insight digital products. Offer recommendations on the communication of clinical insights. Work with Delivery, Ethics & Regulatory, Science, Product and Design, and external agencies to ensure the population health insights tools include all essential considerations and are tested with the appropriate stakeholders. Co-design with stakeholders from NHS, Integrated Care Systems, Public Health Teams, policy makers and other relevant organisations to explore, scope and prioritise opportunities for population health insights products. Work with Science, Partnerships, and our Researcher & Data Teams to ensure our population health insights products meet the needs and requirements of health planners, policy makers and public health users. Provide clinical input to product development projects to help inform and shape the vision from a public health perspective, while complying with regulatory constraints and at the same time delivering an engaging experience for participants. Provide clinical input to the digital clinical safety work of Our Future Health. Represent population health insights to various Groups internally and externally. Work closely with the Head of Product and Head of Regulatory Affairs to ensure products, where needed, are compliant within the changing regulations in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Clinical background with relevant experience in digital health tech development. Proven experience in health technology initiatives and collaborating with product, scientific and engineering teams. Significant experience of clinical evidence review. Experience of translation of findings into digital clinical algorithms and data queries. Experience of designing and conducting clinical audits and research projects. Ideally, knowledge of the opportunities presented by pharmacogenomics and polygenic risk scores. Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with technical, policy, and clinical teams, as well as NHS, industry, and government stakeholders. Knowledge of digital clinical safety best practice and experience of implementing. Ability to navigate complex programs with significant digital aspects, providing clarity and direction amidst change. Current professional / clinical registration preferred. Salary from £55,000.
