Engineering Manager, Integrations, Services & Infrastructure

You’re a hands-on engineering leader wanting to lead a small team. You’ll spend half of your time building and shipping—writing code, designing systems, and solving operational challenges—and half of your time leading—coaching engineers, setting priorities, and ensuring reliable delivery. You will have the opportunity to lead a small, talented team responsible for EngagedMD’s core services, integrations, and infrastructure. This fully remote role reports to our Director of Engineering and candidates are required to reside in the United States. This role requires legal authorization to work in the United States. What You’ll Do Lead and contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of EngagedMD’s backend services and infrastructure Write and review code, spending about half of your time contributing technically to guide architectural quality and team development Guide architectural decisions around scalability, reliability, and observability Manage and grow a small team of engineers through mentorship, feedback, and clear goal-setting Own the service lifecycle—from design and deployment to monitoring and incident response. Partner cross-functionally with Product, Support, and Leadership to align technical work with business priorities Serve as the internal and external expert on EngagedMD’s integration capabilities and collaborate with customer and partner project teams to support successful technical alignment Continuously improve developer productivity, release processes, and infrastructure cost efficiency Join customer and partner calls to provide technical guidance and translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences What You’ll Bring 5+ years of software engineering experience, including backend or infrastructure work (Javascript, Python, Node, Go, or similar) 2+ years of engineering leadership experience (formally or informally) on small, Agile teams Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, monitoring, and automation Experience running and scaling production services (APIs, data pipelines, messaging systems, etc.) Excellent communication skills, with the ability to move seamlessly between technical deep dives and clear, audience-appropriate explanations Strong organizational skills, able to balance detailed technical work with high-level planning and cross-functional collaboration A “player-coach” mindset: you lead by example, stay close to the code, and elevate those around you It’s Also Nice If You… Have experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or service mesh architectures Have a background in incident management and SRE best practices Are familiar with security and compliance for cloud systems Are passionate about building positive, inclusive engineering culture in a small, growing team Have at least a passing familiarity with the fertility industry and/or experience in healthtech with a focus on patient journey software Have successfully worked remotely with distributed teams in the past What We Offer Competitive compensation and equity Medical, dental, and vision coverage heavily subsidized by the company Open Paid Time Off Paid family and medical leave Generous paid holidays 401(k) retirement savings plan EngagedMD is an equal opportunity employer.
