    A curious problem solver who challenges the status quo A collaborator who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing Excited by the intersection of technology, creativity and data Experienced in Agile methodologies and consulting (a plus) Role responsibilities The Fluent Commerce Developer is a specialist responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable solutions using the Fluent Commerce platform, primarily focusing on Order Management System (OMS) and Distributed Order Management (DOM) functionalities. This role involves customizing and extending the platform to meet specific business requirements, integrating with various e-commerce systems, and ensuring seamless order orchestration from capture to fulfillment. The developer will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and innovative e-commerce solutions.

    Fluent Commerce Platform Development:

    Design, develop, and implement custom logic, workflows, and extensions within the Fluent Commerce platform (Fluent Order Management). Utilize Fluent Commerce's APIs and SDKs to build tailored solutions for order orchestration, inventory management, fulfillment, and returns. Configure and extend Fluent Commerce features such as routing rules, fulfillment locations, payment integrations, and customer service tools. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and Fluent Commerce architectural guidelines.

    Integration Development:

    Develop and manage integrations between Fluent Commerce and other critical e-commerce systems, including e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud), ERPs, WMS, payment gateways, and shipping carriers. Utilize RESTful APIs, webhooks, and messaging queues for real-time and batch data synchronization. Ensure secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange across the integrated landscape.

    Technical Design & Architecture:

    Participate in technical design discussions, contributing to architectural decisions and solution planning for Fluent Commerce implementations. Translate business requirements and functional specifications into detailed technical designs within the Fluent Commerce ecosystem. Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, performant, and aligned with overall enterprise architecture and e-commerce strategy.

    Testing & Quality Assurance:

    Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for Fluent Commerce solutions. Identify, troubleshoot, and debug software defects and performance issues within the Fluent Commerce environment and related integrations.

    Collaboration & Communication:

    Collaborate effectively with solutions architects, business analysts, project managers, QA engineers, and other development teams. Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to development standards.

    Maintenance & Support:

    • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing Fluent Commerce implementations, including bug fixes, performance tuning, and minor enhancements.
    • Stay current with new Fluent Commerce releases, features, and e-commerce industry trends to continuously improve development practices.
    • Must have qualifications

    To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 1-2 years specifically focused on the Fluent Commerce platform.
    • Proven track record of successfully implementing and integrating Fluent Commerce OMS/DOM solutions.
    • Strong understanding of e-commerce business processes, particularly in order management, inventory, and fulfillment.

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in a modern programming language such as JavaScript (Node.js preferred), Java, or Python, as Fluent Commerce allows for custom logic in various languages.
    • Strong hands-on experience with Fluent Commerce APIs (RESTful), GraphQL, and extension points.
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) as Fluent Commerce is a cloud-native solution.
    • Solid understanding of integration patterns and technologies (e.g., message queues like SQS, Kafka; API Gateways).
    • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
    • Knowledge of database concepts and data modeling.
    • Understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous approach to development.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions clearly to diverse audiences.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, scalable solutions.
    • Nice to have qualifications
    • Fluent Commerce certification(s).
    • Experience with other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento) or ERP systems.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in a cloud environment.
    • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, ELK stack).
    • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for high-volume transaction systems.
