The Role We’re looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in C# and the .NET ecosystem to help us scale and evolve our core data and API infrastructure. You’ll play a central role in designing, building, and optimising services that power our EV testing, reporting, and data-sharing products. This role is primarily backend-focused, but familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React/React Native/Next.js) is a bonus. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust, high-performance .NET 8+ APIs and services. Work with Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Queues, and SQL/NoSQL databases to build scalable, event-driven systems. Design and optimise APIs that serve our mobile and web products, including partner integrations. Implement efficient RAG AI backend systems for introducing advanced LLM based features Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and frontend developers to deliver new features end to end. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, following modern CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions). Contribute to architecture discussions around performance, scalability, and data integrity. Help evolve our internal tools and services to support ClearWatt’s growing product suite. What We’re Looking For 2+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET Core. Experience building REST APIs or microservices at scale. Familiarity with cloud-native design and Azure services. Understanding of async programming, dependency injection, and distributed systems. Strong grasp of database design and query optimisation (SQL and/or NoSQL). Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team where you’ll have end-to-end ownership. Passion for clean architecture, performance, and testable code. Interest in the EV, sustainability, or data analytics space is a plus. Nice to Have Experience with React / Next.js / React Native or TypeScript. Experience integrating third-party APIs (OEM, OBD, or telematics data). Familiarity with data pipelines and event-driven design. Understanding of CI/CD automation and GitHub Actions workflows. What We Offer Competitive salary and equity options.
