Group Director, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Search Strategy The Opportunity Real Chemistry is seeking a strategic, future-focused leader to shape our Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) capability as the way patients and doctors seek and find health information is rapidly changing. You will help brands understand and capitalize on how AI-driven discovery (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Bing AI, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) is reshaping search, content visibility, and information-seeking behavior in healthcare. You’ll sit at the intersection of analytics, search strategy, content architecture, AI/LLM trends, and digital ecosystems. You bring a strong foundation in SEO and search strategy, analytics driven activation and are motivated by the transformation evolution from keyword-based search to answer-based, conversational, and LLM-powered discovery.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement recommendations from Real Chemistry’s newest GEO solution, HealthGEO.

Serve as the strategic advisor to clients and internal teams on how AI-driven search and LLMs are reshaping discovery, content visibility, and brand strategy and identify opportunities to “upsell” new services based on client AI search needs.

• Develop frameworks, playbooks, and governance that guide clients through the shift from traditional SEO to generative engine optimization.
• Articulate the impact of changing search and discovery patterns on brand visibility, credibility, and content strategy as well as omnichannel measurement frameworks.
• Lead executive-level conversations and workshops on emerging AI/search behaviors and their implications for clients’ categories.

Support analytics and insights deliverables by analyzing evolving user behaviors across LLMs, conversational interfaces, and AI-powered search platforms, and translating these insights into actionable client recommendations.

• Advise clients on structuring content and digital ecosystems for AI-readiness, including clarity, authority, semantic organization, and answer depth.
• Partner with content, web, UX, and digital teams to ensure brand information is consistent, authoritative, and easily retrievable by AI systems.
• Shape the roadmap for GEO offerings, methodologies, and testing models for Real Chemistry’s client portfolio.
• Stay up to date on emerging trends in AI-powered search, LLMs, and user discovery behaviors, proactively sharing perspectives and thought leadership with clients and internal teams.

Identify emerging platforms, formats, and opportunities for clients to engage with AI-powered discovery. Lead internal training and capability-building sessions to evangelize next-gen search thinking across teams. Present complex trends and concepts in simple, strategic narratives to client and internal stakeholders. Work collaboratively across activation, advertising, medical, communications, analytics, and data science teams.

What you should have:

8–12+ years in digital strategy, content strategy, SEO/search strategy, digital experience, or related areas.

• Proven leadership experience advising senior clients or executives.
• Deep experience in healthcare and life sciences, with an understanding of regulated environments (medical, legal, regulatory), scientific content, and healthcare communications.
• Ability to translate AI-search and digital ecosystem trends into implications for healthcare audiences (patients, HCPs, payers, advocacy, policy).
• Ability to evaluate and explain how AI platforms parse, synthesize, and prioritize information.
• Comfort discussing technical concepts (structured data, content architecture, entity relationships) without needing to implement them.
• Excellent communication skills: able to simplify complex systems and deliver compelling narratives.
• Strong strategic thinking: able to build frameworks, roadmaps, and recommendations.
• Curiosity and foresight around emerging AI discovery trends.

Bonus Points For:

• Having managed and shown success with running search marketing campaigns.
• Exposure to LLM behaviors, prompt testing, or AI-driven content analysis.
• Background in large digital ecosystems or content-rich organizations.
• Pay Range: $165,000-$185,000

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Working with Real HART: Since the pandemic, we have adapted to how our people told us they want to work. We have office locations in cities in the US, UK, and Europe with many employees and clients that serve as hubs where and when they need us. For employees who are within an hour of one of our offices, we expect attendance in the office two days per week, either at a Real Chemistry office or onsite with clients.
