
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the In-Force Portfolio: Oversee all aspects of the in-force asset portfolio for MRE, ensuring optimal performance and risk management. Primary Stakeholder Interface: Serve as the main point of contact between the investment team and internal stakeholders, including Operations, Accounting, Actuarial, Legal & Regulatory, Risk, and other relevant functions. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of experts responsible for portfolio management and investment analytics. Investment Analytics System Oversight: Direct the development, maintenance, and operation of a comprehensive investment analytics system to support all reporting and analysis needs for the investment team. Reporting & Analysis: Ensure the production and systematization of comprehensive reports on portfolio holdings, cashflows, analytics, sourcing, and origination for all in-force assets. Liquidity & Cash Management: Oversee liquidity management, cash flow planning, and account structure matters to ensure efficient portfolio operations. Internal & External Collaboration: Interface with key internal functions (accounting, operations, actuarial, risk, legal, compliance) and external stakeholders (cedants, trustees) to support portfolio objectives. Support Investment Strategy: Collaborate with the investment strategy team on the design and execution of new investment structures and solutions. Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all portfolio management activities adhere to relevant legal, regulatory, and risk management requirements. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and best practices in portfolio management and analytics. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, or a related field. CFA charter holder designation preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience in investment management, preferably within insurance, reinsurance, or asset management environments, with significant experience in portfolio analytics, technology platforms, and process improvement. Experience in asset allocation and relative value concepts for insurance companies. Proven experience managing investment teams. Experience at a life and annuity insurance or reinsurance company. Knowledge of liability-driven investing and understanding of asset-liability management (ALM). Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as U.S. statutory accounting and/or Bermuda insurance regulations. Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills; able to influence at all levels of the organization. Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset. Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information. High ethical standards and a commitment to professional excellence. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing external partnerships. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises the asset allocation and pricing team and is responsible for team development and performance management. Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting career path planning and professional growth.
