As an HPC Senior Technical Presales Engineer at Quandela, you will serve as the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective customers. You will analyze complex HPC environments, evaluate workloads, and design tailored quantum system configurations that integrate smoothly with existing infrastructures. Your mission is to help organizations understand how quantum computing fits within their HPC strategy, demonstrate the technical value of Quandela’s photonic quantum platforms, and ensure strong technical qualification during the sales cycle. This role is ideal for someone with deep HPC expertise and a passion for emerging technologies. Key Responsibilities
Technical Skills 5+ years experience in HPC engineering, HPC integration, HPC system architecture, or scientific computing.
HPC clusters, schedulers (Slurm, PBS, Kubernetes) High-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, Ethernet), parallel computing Python for scientific workflows Linux administration and distributed systems Experience deploying or integrating advanced accelerators (GPUs, AI accelerators, FPGAs, etc.) Familiarity with quantum computing concepts Presales / Customer-Facing Skills
Technical discovery sessions Workload assessments Architecture reviews Proof-of-concepts and benchmarks
Soft Skills Strong communication skills—clear, structured, and customer-oriented. Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset. Ability to work autonomously in exploratory or experimental contexts. Strong adaptability in a fast-evolving deep-tech and quantum computing environment. Ability to manage multiple opportunities or POCs in parallel while maintaining high quality. Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies (quantum computing, photonics, hybrid HPC workflows). Ability to build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders in demanding environments (HPC centers, labs, industry R&D). Team player comfortable in cross-functional collaboration Bonus / Nice-to-Have Experience with scientific domains such as physics, optimization, or machine learning. Experience with cloud HPC providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud HPC). Understanding of DevOps practices for HPC Previous exposure to quantum SDKs (Qiskit, PennyLane, etc.).
