    Job Description

    Job Title: Human Resources Director Reports To: Owner & Chief Executive Officer FLSA Status: Exempt Job Type: Full-time Location: 100% Remote Position Summary The Human Resources Director serves as the sole human resources professional within the organization, overseeing all aspects of HR operations, talent acquisition, and payroll. This role acts as a strategic HR Business Partner to organizational leadership while managing day-to-day HR functions and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on professional with broad HR expertise, and the ability to work independently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities HR Business Partner & Leadership (30%) Partner with management to align HR strategies with business goals and workforce needs. Foster cultural transformation and enhancements to position Greenpoint as an employer of choice. Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees regarding performance, morale, productivity, and development. Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop and implement solutions, programs, and policies. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective workplace investigations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Advise management on organizational structure, staffing plans, job design, succession planning, and change management. Conduct regular HR check-ins with departments to evaluate needs, concerns, and opportunities. Guide performance management, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary processes. Recommend and help facilitate internal training opportunities based on identified development needs. Provide interpretation of HR policies and ensure consistent application across the organization. HR Generalist (30%) Administer HR operations including onboarding, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, and leave programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR inquiries and daily operations. Partner with leadership on policy development and communication. Monitor and advise on best practices related to employee relations, diversity, and inclusion. Facilitate the performance review process and provide tools for effective feedback. Support benefit plan administration and open enrollment activities. Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards. Payroll Administration (10%) Coordinate and process payroll activities in partnership with third-party payroll system. Review and ensure the accuracy of timesheets, wage calculations, and payroll deductions. Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation. Ensure timely processing of payroll and compliance with applicable tax and wage laws. Maintain payroll records, benefits deductions, and garnishments. Collaborate with Finance on payroll reporting and audits. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition (30%) Manage full-cycle recruitment for all open positions, from job posting through onboarding. Work with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, define qualifications, and establish hiring criteria. Source, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates based on company needs and job requirements. Provide applicants with accurate information regarding job responsibilities, compensation, benefits, and organizational culture. Conduct reference checks, background verifications, and coordinate pre-employment testing. Maintain applicant records and ensure compliance with EEO and recordkeeping requirements. Develop and implement creative strategies for talent sourcing and employer branding. Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs. Regularly assess recruitment methods and selection techniques for effectiveness. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including HR leadership roles. Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor law, performance management, and talent acquisition. Experience administering HRIS/payroll systems and working with payroll vendors in a multi-state environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and exercise discretion in sensitive situations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently. Excellent EQ and communication skills at all levels of the organization. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.

    In addition to these qualifications, candidates with a mix of the following experience and familiarity will be prioritized in our search:

    • Experience with multi-state labor laws, with a focus on CA and NY.
    • Experience in Rippling HRIS and payroll.
    • Experience managing HR in conjunction with a PEO.
    • Experience working for a private psychotherapy practice.
