As In-House Legal Counsel you'll work as part of the legal team providing legal, regulatory and governance advice to Ki Group. You'll act as a trusted advisor providing guidance on commercial contracts, internal group restructurings/arrangements and capital projects, corporate transactions, corporate governance and regulatory matters. What you will be doing: 🖋️ Providing advice on, and negotiating, commercial contracts and connected documentation, including in conjunction with the Procurement and IT teams. Advising on corporate legal matters, including on group restructurings and intragroup arrangements, capital projects and corporate transactions. Assisting the Finance and Investment teams on miscellaneous tasks, including the negotiation of investment management and account agreements, and annual review of accounts. Working with the Company Secretary (as required) in relation to company secretarial matters. Working with the Compliance team (as required) in relation to regulatory matters If required, providing legal advice to underwriters and their support teams on policy drafting, relevant legal and regulatory developments, delegated underwriting agreements and contractual arrangements with brokers (prior experience of the Lloyd’s of London insurance market is essential). Reviewing and commenting on legal advice received from external advisers. Monitoring, and keeping abreast of, and updating the Group on legal developments and key legal issues impacting the Ki Group. UK legal professional qualification (or equivalent in a European jurisdiction and commitment to obtain UK qualification). Generalist legal experience, including comprehensive knowledge and experience of commercial and corporate law likely to have been gained at a leading law firm. Lloyd’s of London market experience is essential. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and to build the profile of the legal function in a corporate environment. Ability to operate at board level if, and when, necessary. Good influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to find practical solutions to legal issues. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands on in-house counsel and to learn and develop new skills and areas of expertise.
