Planar is seeking an experienced IT Director to oversee the planning, execution and administration of the IT systems for our company and its related affiliates, located primarily in the US and Europe. This role involves budget management and supervision of all IT operations and staff to ensure optimal business efficiencies and security. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, able to collaborate closely with a wide variety of department leaders, understand how the IT department can further key business needs, demonstrate the ability to stay current with industry standards as well as emerging technologies, and implement solutions that support our core business goals.
Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals under the direction of the Executive Vice President & General Counsel and in cooperation with the executive management team and business department leaders Provides consistently superior level of service, emphasizing efficiency, good communication, and a business-focused approach; acts as a liaison between the IT department and other business departments Ensures all projects are delivered on time, within budget and with the benefits promised Develops and manages resource plans (human and financial) Develops and enforces IT security policies and practices Ensures compliance with corporate standards and policies, including regulatory requirements Hires and develops a team of IT professionals who are technically skilled and business focused Ensures that all IT staff members have career plans and receive sufficient training to perform high-quality work Forecast, plan, budget and procure IT assets and solutions for the company Stay current with emerging technologies and assess new solutions Manage vendor and partner relationships Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS or related discipline (MBA or Masters in related field preferred) Minimum of 8 years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility within IT Minimum of 5 years of people management experience within IT Minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT leadership role Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to be strategic yet detailed and hands on as needed. Excellent organizational and planning skills, with ability to juggle multiple priorities with effective time management. Capable of working within a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging environment Able to manage multiple projects and sites in an objective and prioritized manner Capable of securing the cooperation of corporate management, team members, internal departments, partners, customers
