    Fixed Term until December 2026 | Full-Time (part-time negotiable) Academic Level B | $113,211 - $133,974 p.a. Location: Yolngu – Nhulunbuy View Position Description Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health. Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community. About the Role This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and research that supports health care delivery in rural and remote communities, with a strong focus on Indigenous health. Based at the Nhulunbuy Campus, the Lecturer will join a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality teaching, engage in impactful research, and foster partnerships that strengthen health workforce pathways. The role combines academic leadership, community engagement, and collaboration across Flinders University’s rural health footprint. Delivering innovative teaching and supporting student learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including placement education. Conducting and contributing to research in rural, remote, and Indigenous health, including publications and grant acquisition. Building strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders to enhance recruitment and pathways for rural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Collaborating with interprofessional teams and contributing to program development, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives. About You You are an experienced health professional and educator with a passion for improving rural and remote health outcomes. You bring academic expertise, cultural awareness, and a collaborative approach to teaching and research, and you thrive in building relationships that strengthen health workforce pathways. Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Health (PhD or equivalent), or professional experience and standing in the discipline A strong research track record (appropriate to career stage), including publications and grant success. Sound knowledge of rural and remote health issues, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and ability to practice in a culturally safe manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and diverse health professionals.
