Mid-Level Flutter Engineer-Full Time (US Remote)

As an Engineer II at Very Good Ventures, you will play a key role in the success of the development of our multiple client projects. You will work with your Engineering teammates on client projects to provide software solutions and automated tests for complex and exciting problems, from automotive to fintech. With the support of the team, you will be able to write code that follows VGV standards, you will write many tests (unit, widget, integration...), you will pair with many of your colleagues, and you will collaborate with teammates from other disciplines (design, product…) to define and execute the delivery plan of the project. Expectations in the area of… Technical Excellence You have a proven professional understanding of the basic fundamentals of software development, especially in object-oriented programming languages (class vs object, public vs private methods, unit testing…), as well as more advanced topics (dependency injection, end-to-end testing, architecture, and modularization, database design, REST APIs…) You demonstrate proficiency using tools that help you to write software faster with a high level of quality: Git, command line, and UNIX commands, usage of your preferred IDE… You can contribute code with simple to medium complex tasks to more than one technology stack You provide effective code reviews to your teammates You start taking an active role in planning and estimating small to medium software features You can participate, and lead in occasions, code-pairing sessions with other teammates Reliability You are punctual to the different meetings and team ceremonies You provide detailed status updates of your work on team meetings You complete project tasks in a timely manner Effective Collaboration & Communication At this level, many times, asking the right question is more important than having the right answer! You can onboard new teammates into the project you are working on, covering details like feature set, architecture, testing strategy, deployments… You can articulate with confidence the different solutions and implementations you provide You seek out help when you are blocked You offer your support to others in need when you feel confident that you can help Thought Leadership & Generation Of Opportunities The most successful individuals working in a consulting environment are those that combine their skills to execute effectively with their ability to inspire others and create new opportunities. You actively share your learning journey and experiences in your preferred channels (local meetups, LinkedIn, Twitter…) You show interest and contribute to VGV’s resources (for example, blog posts) General Requirements At This Level 1 to 3 years of experience working professionally (and full-time) as a software engineer Positive recommendations from your previous managers and teammates Proven proficiency with one technology stack (for example, Flutter or Firebase) Basic understanding of more than technology stacks VGV wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual base salary for this position is expected to range from $91k-$126k. We benchmark every role based on location and against comparable companies to ensure competitiveness; however, actual compensation is highly dependent on numerous factors such as location, experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications and other job-related factors.
