We’re looking for a Middle Backend Engineer who’s comfortable working with PHP (preferably Laravel) and eager to grow across modern technologies, frameworks, and architectures. You’ll join a collaborative team of experienced engineers who share best practices and focus on building scalable, maintainable, and reliable systems. This role is full-time and offers home working flexibility. Your future role will include Developing and maintaining scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems using PHP (Laravel) and other modern languages, such as Golang. Participating in the full software development lifecycle — from idea and estimation to implementation, testing, and release. Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to deliver valuable features efficiently. Contributing to system design and architecture discussions using C4 modeling and structured technical documentation. Writing clean, efficient, and secure code following best practices and standards. Continuously improving system performance, reliability, and maintainability. You’re going to need this to be successful in this role 3+ years of professional development experience, including experience with PHP/Laravel. Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns. Basic experience with C4 diagrams and system documentation. Ability to estimate work and deliver within set timelines. Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases. Understanding of Git-based workflows and Linux environments. Experience with basic observability (o11y) tools. Advanced English. Familiarity with at least one additional modern language or framework - ideally Golang. Experience with Docker and containerized deployments. Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms. Experience in event-driven systems or microservices. Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools.
