About the Role Platform & Infrastructure Team Leads are responsible for managing a team of infrastructure specialists, and contributing to the design, build, and maintenance of LMAX's on-premises and cloud infrastructure platforms. Main Duties & Responsibilities Strong leadership delivering an empowered and engaged APAC team Representing the APAC team and being a vocal advocate in a global support team headquartered in London Co-ordinate between teams and time zones, balancing business objectives and operational goals. Ensure engineers’ tasks are clearly defined and assist with removing their blockers. Take ownership of the performance, engagement and personal development of engineers. Ownership of objectives, driving delivery through task delegation and hands-on activities. Line management – check-ins, setting clear goals, performance reviews, engagement & happiness. Team management – task allocation and resource planning, workload sign-up and management, participating in wider department objective planning. Support infrastructure including corporate, development and production environments, both Cloud and on-premises. Able to lead and direct large projects with minimal supervision including all aspects of project management, budgeting, commercial negotiations, resourcing and time management. Project management - manage multiple technical staff, be in control of planning, resourcing, purchasing and reporting progress upstream with light supervision. Turn product briefs into system design specifications, partnering with other technology and business staff to agree objectives and communicate design. Ensuring staff have all necessary resources for Learning and Development, are taking time for self-development, and arranging tasks based on learning opportunities. Surface the pain points and blockers to other leaders in different time zones and take ownership to unblock your and other teams. Technical Skills Good all-round knowledge of modern technical architecture, infrastructure and engineering Proven Linux/Cloud engineering skills An understanding of mitigating cybersecurity risks utilising topology, toolsets, technology, people and processes Good networking experience with the ability to troubleshoot production issues Once more advanced into the role Procurement – manage relationships with suppliers, obtaining quotes and negotiating pricing. Actively share knowledge and skills with colleagues through documentation, pair working and team discussions. Develop and maintain knowledge of LMAX domain and related financial markets and use this knowledge to challenge, refine and focus team direction. Can own technology verticals and become a subject matter expert, defining processes, driving improvements, and fostering ideas and education for the wider teams.
