    Job Description

A bit about Smartly, a Datacom company We exist to make it simpler for Kiwi businesses to look after their people. We’re known as the simple way to sort your payroll for over 20,000 businesses. Our slick software combined with our awesome support team help businesses pay their people on time, accurately and in line with legislation. We wholeheartedly believe that if you put your people first, everyone wins. Great employees and great employee relationships are still one of the most valuable things a business can have. Look after them, and success, however you measure it gets easier. Your people win, your customers win, you win. About the role We’re looking for a technically fluent Product Manager – Integrations & Internal Systems to lead the strategy, prioritisation, and delivery of Smartly’s internal platform ecosystem - connecting systems like HubSpot, Zuora, Notion, and Microsoft Azure into a secure, compliant, and scalable environment. You’ll be the single point of accountability for how Smartly’s internal systems talk to each other - defining the roadmap, managing intake and prioritisation, and ensuring our integrations and data flows are designed for long-term success. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of product, technology, and operations - perfect for someone who enjoys tackling complexity, driving governance, and translating technical capability into business value. What you’ll be doing Lead the roadmap and prioritisation for Smartly’s internal integrations and system configurations. Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, RevOps, and Marketing to ensure our internal systems are efficient, connected, and future-ready. Collaborate with the Technical Architecture Governance (TAG) group and the Integrations SteerCo to ensure alignment with Smartly’s security and compliance standards. Use data and analytics to inform investment decisions, validate hypotheses, and measure impact. Drive continuous improvement through agile delivery, product discovery, and strong stakeholder engagement. Support the adoption of new AI-enabled tools and automation practices to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

    What you’ll need to bring:

    • Proven experience in product management, systems integrations, or internal platform enablement within a SaaS environment.
    • Strong technical literacy across APIs, middleware, CI/CD, and integration workflows.
    • Experience with platforms such as HubSpot, Zuora, Notion, and Microsoft Azure.
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 or SOC2.
    • A data-driven mindset and the ability to make evidence-based prioritisation decisions.
    • Excellent relationship management and communication skills — able to align stakeholders and influence across teams.
    • Curiosity and a growth mindset, with an interest in applying AI and automation to modern product operations.

    What you’ll get

    • An attractive salary
    • Great employee benefits

Flexible working – work from home up to three days a week Awesome company-wide culture – we love a massive morning tea, an epic work party, and the random rolling lunch We’re also truly passionate about our people and seeing them thrive
