Regulatory compliance Engage and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Control Risks remains compliant with relevant regulations. Work with other team members to execute a government affairs strategy. Work with relevant internal teams to make changes to policy or processes. Ensure continued internal compliance by implementing risk training, working together with China business leaders, legal and other functions as required. Risk Management Monitor risks to the China business and report as appropriate to geomarket head Provide regular updates to both mainland China and regional leadership on any changes in risk posture. Participate as a key member of the China Risk Management Team (CRMT) offering advice and guidance to internal stakeholders. Review all proposals and scopes in accordance with CRMT standards. Engage with Control Risks teams both in China and across the world to ensure projects are in line with Control Risks standards of risk assessment. Own the risk register for the mainland China business and support the implementation of all initiatives. Operational delivery Direct Line Management and oversight of Office Managers for both Shanghai and Beijing offices Manage issues that emerge in day-to-day office operations and administration issues for Shanghai and Beijing offices, working closely with the geomarket lead and business support functions such as HR and finance. Act as initial point of escalation for Finance, Legal, HR and DTS teams and work with them to create solutions for presentation to the geomarket head and regional leadership. Own and keep up to date the Business Continuity plan for the Mainland China business. Consulting engagements Work closely with the geomarket head and business practice leads to troubleshoot any operational issues that may emerge within consulting practices. Work with consulting practices to review and improve work methodologies and work templates. If required, support and lead the design, implementation, and delivery of consulting cases. Knowledge and experience Essential Understanding of key regulatory mechanisms which may be relevant to consulting in Greater China, including but not limited to data and information management, data protection. Demonstrated ability to identify and solve operational and risk concerns Experience coordinating across global teams. Understanding of government affairs and external engagement in China. Prior work in a legal or compliance function Preferred Legal education background Experience in a professional services company. Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams Qualifications and specialist skills Chinese and English work proficiency Effective decision making and judgement Excellent planning and organizational skills Assertiveness and drive with strong influencing skills Strong interpersonal skills-building trust and rapport Excellent communication skills – written and oral (informal and presentation) IT literacy – MS office packages, advanced Excel Project management skills
