Position Overview The Senior Accountant will play a central role in managing the company’s accounting functions, focusing on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth month-end and year-end close processes. This position supports accrual-based accounting operations with strong involvement in POC accounting, inventory management, and prepaid and lease accounting. Key Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Manage accrual-based accounting processes, ensuring the accurate recognition of receipts and payments. Support percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting for construction projects, including job cost and revenue recognition tracking. Perform inventory accounting functions, including reconciliation, valuation, and cost adjustments. Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare and maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, leases, and fixed assets. Support ongoing improvements in accounting processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial data. Assist with audit preparation, financial analysis, and ad-hoc reporting requests. Collaborate across departments to align accounting records with project operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5–7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or HVAC industries. Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, POC, inventory, and general ledger management. Experience with ERP systems, preferably Business Central or QuickBooks. Solid knowledge of prepaid accounting, lease accounting, and month-end close processes. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
