Senior Accountant

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Sphynx. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Accounting entries and month-end closing procedures Preparation and submission of tax declarations (VAT, income tax, withholding taxes, etc.), as well as monitor and manage MYDATA Assist with tax audits and manage ad-hoc tax issues with external consultants Bank reconciliations and reconciliation of subsystems (fixed and intangible assets, customers, suppliers, receivables, payables) Ensuring clients’ compliance with tax laws, regulatory provisions, and accounting standards Participate in the monthly financial closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations. Continuous update and in-depth knowledge of all changes in tax legislation Active participation in ERP future integration and implementation Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; Payroll knowledge will be considered as an asset Qualifications BSc or MSc in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration 5–7 years of relevant work experience (preferably) Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, laws, and regulations Familiarity with Greek GAAP and IFRS Solid experience in year-end procedures and preparation of Financial Statements Excellent knowledge of accounting software such as Epsilon Net, SoftOne, Entersoft, Pylon.
