    Department: Global Network and Nonprofit Programs

    Location: Points of Light is a remote-first organization. Any U.S. location in the Eastern or Central time zone in a market with a major airport. Washington, DC preferred.

    Position Summary

    The Senior Manager, NGO Programs serves as a project manager within Points of Light’s Global Network and Nonprofit Programs team. This role is responsible for managing the successful execution of grant-funded projects and initiatives designed to strengthen the capacity of nonprofits and volunteer-mobilizing organizations.

    The Manager will coordinate program timelines, track progress toward milestones and goals, and ensure effective communication and collaboration among internal teams, external partners, and subject matter experts. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

    This position is grant funded with duration contingent on continued grant support.

    Position Functions and Responsibilities:

    Program and Grant Management

    • Lead day-to-day project and grant management for nonprofit capacity building programs, ensuring deliverables are on time, within scope, and aligned with Points of Light’s strategic priorities.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and progress tracking systems in Asana.
    • Monitor milestones and proactively identify and address risks, delays, or needed adjustments.
    • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, including developing agendas, capturing notes and next steps, and ensuring follow-up.
    • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Serve as project manager and liaison between the Global Network and Nonprofit Programs team and other internal departments, including Finance, Development, Corporate Programs and Marketing and Communications. Manage the internal teams and keep them informed and on track to execute deliverables in timely manner.
    • Coordinate with external partners, consultants, and subject matter experts to ensure strong collaboration and high-quality program delivery.
    • Support in partnership with VP of Programs, the development of reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders, including funder reports.
    • Assist as secondary liaison with funders to support communication of progress, outcomes, and learning; contribute to funder stewardship, reporting, and renewal strategies in coordination with Development.
    • Contracts and Partner Management
    • Aid the coordination of program-related contracts, payments, and vendor relationships in collaboration with Finance and Operations.
    • Ensure high-quality partner experiences through responsive communication, attention to funder needs, and integration of feedback into program delivery.
    • Administrative and Operational Support
    • Support the scheduling and coordination of program related internal and external meetings, webinars, and convenings.
    • Manage project documentation, shared resources, and internal communication tools.
    • Monitor budgeted project/grant spending and reporting related to assigned projects regularly.
    • Collaborate with Finance and Development to align program budgets and deliverables with funder requirements, proactively identifying and resolving issues impacting project timelines or fiscal performance.
    • Support departmental operations and other enterprise-wide initiatives as needed.

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to different audiences and balance multiple priorities.
    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of a range of business software programs (Salesforce and Asana).

    Requirements:

    • 4+ years of relevant experience in the NGO/nonprofit sector including experience in program management experience and customer service
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Able to multitask and prioritize
    • Overnight travel occasionally (estimated less than 5%)
    • Ability to create a welcoming work environment for all
