Staff Software Engineer - Cost Management

In this role, you will help lead the development of cost and quota management systems for enterprise printing infrastructure, leveraging payment gateway integrations to serve business, education, government, and other sectors while enhancing financial controls, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Work as a key member of our Print Automation Group to design and implement next-generation print cost management and financial control solutions. Design, develop, and deploy cost management applications including quota systems, bill-back/chargeback functionality, and payment gateway integrations (Stripe, PayPal, and other payment processors), focusing on enterprise and education sectors. Architect scalable microservices and integrations for print, copy, and scan quota management ecosystems, including real-time usage tracking, budget enforcement, quota allocation and limits, with support for ERP/accounting system integrations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement domain-driven designs, ensuring high-performance and secure solutions. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive best practices in software development principles, architectural patterns, and problem-solving. Stay abreast of evolving payment technologies and cost optimization strategies that improve print cost management and business process automation capabilities. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience A proven track record of 10+ years in software development, with at least 5+ years specializing in cost management systems, quota management, billing platforms, or payment gateway integrations. Proficiency in core technologies for cost management, quota systems, and payment integration applications (such as C++, GoLang, Python, Vue). Hands-on experience with payment gateway APIs and SDKs (Stripe, PayPal, Square, or similar) and secure payment handling. Experience with quota management systems, cost allocation, bill-back/chargeback systems, or usage tracking applications in enterprise or education environments. Expertise in relational database development (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB); data modeling for cost and usage tracking. Strong knowledge of AWS/DevOps, Docker, Microservices, Git, and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems in enterprise settings. Comfortable working within an AI-native development organization, utilizing agentic AI-assisted development processes and tools. Self-starter capable of working productively with minimal supervision, while excelling in collaborative team environments. Excellent organizational, communication, time management skills, and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with web services (e.g., REST APIs, GraphQL) for payment system integrations and ERP/accounting system connectivity (QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, etc.). Knowledge of additional tools like React or PHP for frontend/backend enhancements in SaaS applications. Prior work in education payment systems, campus card systems, or print management billing platforms. Experience with cost optimization algorithms, predictive analytics for budget forecasting, or usage-based pricing models. Strong data engineering skills including database optimization and large-scale data modeling a plus. Advanced certifications in software engineering, payment processing, or related fields.
