Closing date: 3 December 2025 Salary scale: £43,000 per annum What is the purpose of this job? The QA Technical Analyst will be chiefly responsible for delivery of QA execution, requirement management (esp around traceability), automation and reporting across programs and projects with a specific attention to the technical capabilities of QA as a service. They will be required to support the QA Manager(s) with developing and managing the system coverage, documentation and its delivery for RDG along with delivery of automation and CI CD as a key element of QA delivery. The remit of this role will also include working with the various internal teams, external and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of technical QA services across programs, projects and BAU. Specific focus on QA delivery by actively managing automation and CI CD through adoption of the right practices and processes is key. What can I expect to do in this job?
· Produce and maintain test plans across the lifecycle of the project for all aspects of Acceptance and E2E Testing. · Where appropriate assist with developing internal test practices across the organisation and ensuring delivery of testing services that complies to the organisational quality assurance policy, practices, and test strategy. · Test Estimation to ensure that the effort for testing on projects is correctly captured and tracked. · Development and maintenance of Customer Acceptance Test objectives matrices through the project and successful baselining as part of project closure. · Definition of Acceptance Test criteria and working with Business Stakeholders to sign off user test requirements and test acceptance criteria. · Day to day management of the activities of self/team and QA activities of suppliers (wherever needed). · Creating and delivering all key QA deliverables – Test plans, strategies, scope, requirement traceability, test objective matrices, test cases, test reports (including defect management) · Automate regression and functional tests to help improve time to market for QA services. · Manage the automation scripts and codes bases using tools like GitHub and GitLab. · Help create requirement traceability matrix by active management of stories in JIRA, ALM and related tools. · Strive towards upskilling and maintaining skills/proficiency to best delivery change in RDG. · Support testing processes especially around automation in a CI/CD and/or DevOps Model. · Help document knowledge of all automation and technical testing for the team. · Help train and share knowledge with team members on all subjects that you work on. · Good understanding and adopting of static assurance across all testing stages. · Be proactive and escalate any delays in testing to project manager, test manager and/or Head of QA in a timely manner. · Develop and maintain a good testing knowledge of the relevant systems (online and/or backend), scope and objectives and input into the Service Desk Knowledge base · Engage with vendors/suppliers and work collaboratively to ensure that quality of releases and products. · Ensure supplier test delivery is in line with RDG policy and standards and develop a Test Assurance Framework for third party software delivery · Be proficient in Risk based approach to testing and deliverables. · Work with the test manager and project team to manage expectations and ensure adherence to timelines. · Review and maintain quality of test knowledge and scripts in the team. · Good team player and good collaboration skills especially with other teams within the organisation to ensure the organisation deliver to the railway community. · Report on daily status of testing to test manager and if required to the stakeholders, vendors, and project management. · Build and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders, including key business users · Work positively and communicate professionally across the team to make an effective contribution to team tasks and team spirit. · Contribute to the building of automation framework within the organisation · Be flexible with day-to-day remit and work as required by the Quality Assurance team · Work with Service Assurance leadership and other departments to deliver a support framework for AI functionality to enhance productivity on QA deliverables. · Demonstrate good team processes and practices to support EDI and good personal development. Who will my key contacts be?
· All internal teams including but not limited to projects, accreditation, audit, customer service, RDG IT and Finance teams.
· All associated external parties related to RDG. These include but are not limited to the Train Operating Companies, Department of Transport, Travel for London, all suppliers, solution providers. All related consultants and contracting arrangements within a project or program of work. What experience, skills and knowledge do I need? Keen understanding of system analysis. · Ability to work independently to achieve project deliverables. · Maintain and build functional and non-functional testing for relevant systems using approved automation tools as per QA framework and practises. · Have a good understanding of automation and its application · Good working knowledge of automation tools - Selenium Open Source, Robot Framework, Python, ReadyAPI, Saucelabs, GitHub, Gitlab, ConnectALL, Gatling and any tool that RDG or the departments deem necessary to incorporate into work delivery.
