    This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VMware Support Engineer (NSX) in the United States. This role provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, global technical support environment, delivering expert VMware NSX solutions to enterprise clients. The VMware Support Engineer (NSX) will provide advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution, and guidance on network virtualization and related technologies. You will collaborate with a global team to ensure 24x7 customer support and help clients optimize their VMware environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in VMware NSX, vSphere, networking, Linux, and API interactions, combined with excellent communication and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage complex issues with a focus on customer satisfaction. You will contribute to creating and maintaining knowledge resources, perform root cause analysis, and promote best practices across teams. Occasional after-hours support may be required to meet urgent client needs.

    Accountabilities:

    • Provide L3 VMware NSX support to enterprise clients, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
    • Manage customer issues from initial report to resolution, ensuring timely and effective follow-up.
    • Collaborate with a global support team in a 24x7 “follow the sun” support model.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining technical knowledge articles to improve support efficiency.
    • Promote best practices, methodologies, and process improvements for NSX and VMware environments.
    • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, providing guidance and status updates.
    • Participate in occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday support for urgent issues.
    • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with VMware core technologies at a senior support level.
    • Expertise in NSX-T architecture, including Managers, Controllers, Transport Nodes, and Edge Nodes.
    • Strong understanding of logical switching & routing, Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateway design.

    Experience with Distributed Firewall (DFW) and Gateway Firewall (GFW) including rule creation, optimization, and micro-segmentation. Knowledge of Edge Services such as load balancers, NAT, and VPN configuration. Proficiency in VMware vSphere, including vCenter, ESXi, VM networking, and vDS. Strong Linux/UNIX skills and ability to use shell commands in troubleshooting environments. Solid networking knowledge, including L3 protocols, IP subnetting, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and network design. Familiarity with Rest API, Curl, Postman, HTTP response codes, and certificate management. Experience with packet capture/Wireshark and network virtualization troubleshooting. Relevant certifications preferred: Linux LPIC-1/LPIC-2, Networking CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP/VCP-NV/VCAP-NV. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a strong customer focus.
