As a Chief Accountant, you will lead the regional accounting function and ensure the financial integrity of our entire operation. You'll oversee all accounting activities, guaranteeing the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial records with legal and regulatory requirements. Β This leadership role goes beyond simple oversight. You'll provide strong mentorship to your team, fostering their professional development and building a team of skilled and dedicated accountants. Β Furthermore, you'll collaborate closely with the Regional Finance Head, providing insightful financial analysis that directly supports strategic decision-making across the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Management


  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Regional Accounting Department.
  • Partner with the Regional Finance Head to implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Build and develop a high-performing and efficient accounting team.
  • Establish clear goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, celebrating success and promoting work-life balance.
  • Cultivate a culture of open communication and lead by example.
  • Provide oversight for subsidiary accounting operations (if applicable).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust system of accounting policies and procedures.


Transactions


  • Review and approve all regional expense processing.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of accounting policies across all properties.
  • Verify and authorize supplier invoices for timely payment.
  • Design and implement an efficient invoicing process for guests.
  • Manage prompt collection of accounts receivable.
  • Oversee accurate payroll processing and timely compensation payments.
  • Ensure timely recording and depositing of cash receipts.
  • Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Manage scheduled debt payments.
  • Maintain proficiency in the company's accounting software (POS, reservations, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain a chart of accounts that meets record-keeping and reporting needs.
  • Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Maintain a well-organized filing system for all accounting records, including a document archiving and destruction policy.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive system of controls over all accounting functions.


Reporting


  • Compile and issue accurate financial statements on a timely basis.
  • Measure and report on the financial and operational performance of the company and its units for management.
  • Prepare various financial analyses for management decision-making.
  • Represent the department in scheduled Head of Department meetings.
  • Collaborate with department heads to achieve Mad Monkey's strategic goals.
  • Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and report them to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual reports.
  • Provide necessary information for internal, external, and regulatory audits.
  • Implement and maintain a system for accurate and timely financial reporting, aligned with the Regional Finance Head's guidance.


Compliance


  • Ensure adherence to all filing requirements of local, state, and regional authorities.
  • Maintain compliance with tax reporting and payment requirements in collaboration with the Tax Consultant.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (highly preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting leadership role
  • Experience working in the hospitality industry is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Philippine tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in preparing accurate financial reports and conducting insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Experience with accounting software, including but not limited to SAP
  • Competence in overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
