Job Summary

Position is onsite at the Pentagon or Mark Center.  This is not a telework or remote delivery role. 

 

As a defense mission professional, you’ll bring in-depth understanding and expertise to support a senior defense client in the strategy development, implementation planning, and acquisition, transition, and resource-related assessments for Command and Control (C2) systems, programs, and concepts, including Combined Joint All-Domain C2 (CJADC2) modernization and integration. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • You’ll apply leading-edge principles and concepts to provide expert technical, acquisition, and program support for interoperability and cooperative development in the C2 capability portfolio.
  • You’ll operate with substantial latitude to lead and innovate decision analysis for addressing complex DoD acquisition and investment problems, providing recommendations, executing plans to optimize portfolio investments, and reducing enterprise risk.
  • You’ll evaluate existing C2 systems to identify operational deficiencies and network performance improvements.
  • You’ll monitor the development and experimental execution of JADC2 capabilities and assist with the collection and analysis of after actions and lessons learned information that will be used to develop and deliver JADC2 capabilities for the warfighter.
  • You’ll engage in variety of internal and external technical working groups and governance bodies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years relevant experience and TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with operational planning, force development, and deployment for joint target cycle or command and control mission sets
  • Experience as a self starter, effectively executing the action or staff officer role
  • Experience with working as part of a cross-functional delivery team, integrating and incorporating information from multiple team members into recommendations or decision materials
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate client and stakeholder requirements, perform proactively while paying strict attention to detail, and work with minimum oversight
  • Knowledge of CJADC2 objectives and goals
  • Knowledge of the DoD Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) and either the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) or Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes
  • HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of additional experience in an operational role with DoD or interagency partners, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years additional experience, or Master’s degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with implementing, modernizing, and transitioning military C2 technologies
  • Experience in Joint Command and Service operations center
  • Experience as an action officer or staff officer on OSD, Joint Staff, or Service/Agency-level headquarter staff including developing strategies, decision briefs, and information papers and analyzing policy documents
  • Experience with Program Management or Capability Portfolio Management
  • Expertise in writing and synthesizing data from multiple sources into comprehensive technical documents that are easy to comprehend
  • Expertise undertaking analytical activities for US government acquisition programs, including stakeholder requirements definition, requirements analysis, test and evaluation, trade studies, or architecture design per US government processes 
  • Ability to work independently, creatively, and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Knowledge of the technology and implementation approaches for enterprise architectures, cloud computing, common operating pictures

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics, under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment, is responsible for the department's logistics strategy and policy, supply, storage and distribution, property and equipment, transportation, and program support.
