The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as an IT Project Analyst. In this role, you will ensure effective communication, alignment, and execution within our data engineering initiatives. As we build the future state of data utilization to support our stores and customers, this role will facilitate seamless collaboration across internal and external data engineering teams.

 

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external data engineering teams, product teams, and business stakeholders; ensure smooth communication channels, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Drive Adoption: Play a pivotal role in championing the adoption of data engineering initiatives; foster a community of practice with data producers and consumers within the organization, encouraging sharing, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee project execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives every quarter; monitor progress, identify risks, and proactively address obstacles.
  • Escalations and Obstacle Removal: Promptly escalate critical issues to engineering leadership, forecast obstacles hindering our data strategy efforts, and remove them.
  • Resource Management: Manage team capacity, execution risks, and resource allocation; assist in controlling labor and cloud budget.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with engineering team leaders to manage stakeholder expectations, foster strong relationships, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering)
  • Minimum of five years of proven experience in technical coordination, project management, or related roles
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts and methodologies
  • Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in working collaboratively and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
