Overview

Job Title: Vice President of Business Development

Location: Remote 

 

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer this strategic role positions Stellant Systems for growth across our Space, Industrial and Scientific and Air, Sea & Ground markets.  This role will lead the development of Stellant Systems Strategic Growth Plan, Lead and Develop a High performance Business development team focused on identifying and capturing strategic growth programs, develops and maintains strategic relationships with key customer in our core markets, provide market input into R&D plans, and will drive overall growth through penetration into new products and customers.

 

Position Objective

This position is responsible for leadership of the overall business development team and delivering the following results:

  • Driving annual increase orders by at least 10%
  • Increasing our DoD & Intelligence space sales to at least 10% of our overall sales by ’25
    • Including winning at least 2 DoD programs
  • Leading market strategies to support growth in following markets
    • Medical & Industrial
    • Radar & Missile Seekers
    • Passive RF Products
  • Develop market growth strategy support market development and growth for space and terrestrial SSPAs

Responsibilities

  • Leads creation of strategic business plan for the corporation through development of a clear understanding our Stellant’s markets, customer and products to determine growth opportunities across the corporation.
  • Develops and maintains understanding of market trends for the DoD and Intelligence markets to provide strategic insight into future opportunities and products.
  • Supports development of Stellant’s Brand as part of increasing our corporate value. This includes oversight of marketing and communications as well as providing an overall plan for brand development.
  • Oversees our government relations which includes managing corporate government relationships and lobbying efforts.
  • Communicates strategic plans and status to Executive Leadership, Organizational Stake Holders & Stellant Board Members
  • Collaborates with the division General Managers, Engineering, Sales and Business development to create executable marking strategies and business development pipelines.
  • Sets measurable business development goals to support Stellant’s annual operating plan. Provides support to business development, sales and program teams to support program capture.
  • Hires, coaches, and develops world class business development talent.

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or physical science that allows the successful candidate to be able to understand and communicate with our technical staff and customers. MS preferred.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 20+ years experience in aerospace & defense with executive roles in business development and program management.
  • Successful track record of developing and executing on strategic growth plans.
  • Ability to communicate at executive levels to senior level customers, executive leadership and board members.
