We have a new part time REMOTE clinic RN position (0.8 fte) 32 hours per week available with our Primary Care (Patient Outreach) clinic.  This position would require full onsite orientation and training.  

The Primary Care Outpatient RN will provide skilled comprehensive patient assessment, triage, education and coordination of healthcare and community resources for patients via telephone or other technological means.  This professional telehealth registered nurse assesses/analyzes patient needs, identifies expected outcomes, collaborates, and communicates strategies with the patient to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care.  

The responsibilities of the Outpatient Registered Nurse in this telehealth role includes:

 

  • Coordinating and facilitating quality management of a broad-based outpatient population across the continuum of care.
  • Providing skilled and comprehensive telehealth nursing triage and assessment.
  • Coordinating plan of care including health teaching/education and promotion, and consultation.
  • Coordinating healthcare and community resources
  • Demonstration of Virginia Mason organizational policy, procedure, and standard work.
  • Supporting the care team in the provision of patient care.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Current Washington State licensure as an RN
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years RN experience in acute and/or ambulatory nursing and the following-
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in all patient interactions; HIPAA compliance
  • Familiarity with patient interaction on the telephone
  • Maintain quality, safety, and program metrics
  • Ability to navigate internal and external resources
  • Ability to work as team member and independently
  • Proven communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
